学生申诉程序的目的是提供一个系统来引导和解决学生对大学员工所做的决定或采取的行动的投诉. 只有当一个决定或行为涉及到对大学政策的误用时,才会让人感到悲伤, 程序或规例, 或州或联邦法律. This procedure may not be used in the following instances: (1) to grieve a claim against a college employee for any matter unrelated to the employee’s role or position at the college; (2) for complaints or appeals of grades awarded in a class or for an assignment unless the complaint is based upon alleged discrimination on the basis of race, color, 宗教, 性, 性取向, 国家的起源, 年龄, 残疾, 遗传信息, 性别, 资深地位, 怀孕, 分娩, other categories protected by applicable law or on the basis of alleged 性ual harassment/violence; or (3) to grieve a decision for which other grievance or appeal procedures exist (e.g., 对纪律案件的上诉, 居住上诉, 经济援助申请, FERPA不满, 转移信用评估).
提出申诉的学生必须符合“学生”的定义,并且必须是被指控的虐待行为的受害者. 不能代表他人提出申诉.
